Venue hire
Agreeing photography at a private event venue

Separate venue permission from guest consent
Permission to hire a space does not answer every question about taking or publishing photographs. Tell the venue if a professional photographer, filming crew or branded shoot is planned. Explain where the images will appear. Separately, give guests a clear way to decline being photographed, especially during workshops or personal conversations.
Make the arrangement usable on the day
Brief the photographer on areas and moments to avoid. Identify who can answer questions and how opt-outs will be respected without drawing unwanted attention. Avoid leaving private notes or participant lists visible in background shots. If you later want to use images for a different purpose, revisit the permission rather than assuming the original agreement covered it. Clear expectations protect the atmosphere of the event as well as the finished photographs.
Plan your next step
For the wider context, read our planning guide. If you are working through the next practical detail, the final confirmation before your venue event follows naturally from this.
You can also explore discuss your venue enquiry. Bring the details of your group or stay to the conversation so we can discuss what fits, rather than assuming every arrangement is included.
