“We create a feeling of home in the little moments, through small acts of kindness, creativity and collective responsibility.”
— Life at Selgars

Not a hotel. Not a hostel. Not an Airbnb.

Selgars is a home you get to help make.

Experience a slower, more regenerative way of living, rooted in nature and community. We share more than a roof: meals, thoughts, challenges, ideas, skills and memories.

Winter brings the cold, we bring the warmth

What makes Selgars Coliving special is our culture of caring for each other and approaching life with positivity and curiosity. We create a feeling of home in the little moments through small acts of kindness and collective responsibility.

New to the concept of coliving in nature?

Why choose countryside coliving at Selgars in Devon?

Selgars Coliving gives you all the benefits of living in the countryside — being in nature, having more space to work and play, and enjoying a slower and more peaceful way of life — without the downsides of feeling lonely, isolated and lacking a community to share life with.

Whether you are a digital nomad craving some stillness and stability or a couple living in the city looking to try something different, Selgars is a place where you can truly recharge, reset and experience living in a fun and caring community. Coliving can also be a great way to navigate big life transitions. Perhaps you are feeling burnout from your job, or find yourself heartbroken after a tough breakup, or maybe you just love the idea of coliving and are curious to try something new. Selgars is a magical place that we love deeply and feel blessed to call our home. Coliving gives us an opportunity to share this home with you.

How it works

Selgars Coliving is the ideal way to end and begin your year. We all work during the day and then enjoy shared meals and group activities in the evening. We are passionate about health and wellness and encourage each other to stay committed to good habits and daily practices. We also end each season with a small co-created festival called Selgarnia in April.

— Ida Tarbell

Testimonials

  • “I absolutely loved staying at Selgars. Thank you so much for having me. I love how you’ve created a beautiful ever-evolving pop-up community where everyone can share, learn and grow together. I felt really inspired by the conversations with everyone, loved the mini adventures and thoroughly enjoyed the evening socialising. I also thought the property was fab and am super excited for the next chapter. Oh and Zuko was the icing on the cake!”

  • “I’d always dreamed of living in community with people, in nature, holistically. Selgars was my first experience of it and I have to say it’s exceeded all my expectations. The land, the Mill, are an incredible setting, the culture Mo and Anton have built is truly beautiful, I’ve built numerous deep meaningful connections through Selgars and I consider it home. For someone very busy with work, it’s the perfect tonic.”

  • “I love living in community and the idea of staying with like minded folks in a beautiful part of the country in an amazing historic building felt like a no brainer. A way to explore what it means for a community to really work and also find some of that work life balance. I couldn’t recommend it enough. It just really feels like everyone is on a similar wavelength. We care for one another. Share meals, share vibes. Create spontaneous beautiful moments. Have fun. Work hard too. Relax. It’s just great.”
