Venue hire
Allowing enough time for event setup and packdown
Team Selgars · · 1 min read
Treat access as a booked requirement
An event starting at ten may need deliveries, furniture changes and a sound check much earlier. List those tasks and ask when access begins. Do not assume the previous evening is available because the main programme starts the next morning. The venue may have another group or its own preparation to complete.
Plan the departure with equal care
Agree when suppliers collect equipment, who restores furniture and how waste is handled. Keep the organiser available until the handover is complete rather than booking the first train home. Put agreed timings in the schedule sent to suppliers. At Selgars, describe your setup and departure needs in the enquiry so they can be discussed alongside the event itself. Extra access is something to confirm, not something to discover you need on the day.
Plan your next step
For the wider context, read our planning guide. If you are working through the next practical detail, briefing external suppliers for a countryside venue follows naturally from this.
You can also explore discuss your venue enquiry. Bring the details of your group or stay to the conversation so we can discuss what fits, rather than assuming every arrangement is included.
