What to do in the week after a team retreat

Send the record while the meaning is fresh
Share agreed decisions, owners and dates soon after returning. Ask participants to correct misunderstandings, not reopen every conversation by default. Keep social photographs separate from the working record so people can find the actions quickly. A concise document with clear permissions is more useful than a folder full of unnamed whiteboard images.
Check whether ordinary work makes room for the plan
During the first week, ask each owner what they have started and what is blocking them. Remove an old commitment where a new one requires capacity. At the scheduled review, compare progress with the original purpose of the retreat. Good feedback includes what should change next time: too many topics, insufficient breaks or a decision maker missing from a crucial session.
Plan your next step
For the wider context, read our planning guide. If you are working through the next practical detail, who does what at a residential team offsite? follows naturally from this.
You can also explore team retreat options. Bring the details of your group or stay to the conversation so we can discuss what fits, rather than assuming every arrangement is included.
