Venue hire
Having a useful accessibility conversation with a venue

Ask about the route through the whole visit
A single accessible label cannot describe every person’s needs. Discuss arrival, parking or drop-off, entrances, bedrooms, bathrooms, meeting spaces and outdoor routes. Ask for measurements or current photographs where they would help. Let the participant describe what information matters to them rather than guessing from a general category.
Confirm specific arrangements in writing
Identify which requirements the venue can meet, what remains uncertain and whether any adjustment depends on a particular room or layout. Share sensitive information only with the people who need it. Recheck arrangements if the event moves spaces or dates. The aim is to give someone reliable information to make their own decision. Do not promise access on behalf of a venue until the relevant details have been confirmed.
Plan your next step
For the wider context, read our planning guide. If you are working through the next practical detail, questions to ask before hiring a venue with a kitchen follows naturally from this.
