HOW TO BUILD & RUN YOUR OWN VEG GARDEN
Grow Tribe is an introductory growing course designed by James Spychal and Anton Chernikov. Anton is an entrepreneur and designer who runs Selgars Mill, an 8 acre estate in Devon. James is an agroecological and regenerative farmer, specialising in market gardening. Together Anton & James have mapped out all the things you need to consider before building your own veg garden.
WHY THIS? WHY NOW?
We are in a Climate Emergency. Growing food & regenerating land is one of simplest and most impactful actions that everyday people can make.
We want to enable and inspire as many people as possible to build and operate their own local veg gardens by creating a course that is fun, practical and accessible. We plan to film an introductory online masterclass in our edible learning garden at Selgars. We would like to distribute this course in partnership with existing educational platforms and climate action communities. We also plan to host in person courses at Selgars and provide ongoing community support and advice to help members of the Grow Tribe with their projects.

This course is suitable for home growers as well as community growers who want to learn the foundational skills for building and operating a larger veg garden (a bit like the one at Selgars shown in the photo below). After taking this course you will have the tools, resources, knowledge and confidence to launch your own local growing project.
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed for community scale growing rather than large scale commercial market gardening. Instead of overloading you with too much technical and theoretical information we will share with you a condensed and practical overview of the whole process, with the essentials that you will need to get started. We have broken the course down into modules so you can easily navigate between resources and videos.
