Anton and I (Morgane) met in 2017 in our living room.
A living room we shared with 48 other people at the time.
We met in a self-run Community in the heart of Stockholm, Sweden.
Anton had moved in already in 2016 as part of the team who launched the Space which went by the name Tech Farm at the time. It now goes **by K9 [www.k9coliving.com]
I moved in in the summer of 2017 after separating from my partner and 8 years living in Stockholm with just 1 other person.
For me it was a huge shock and I wasnt too sure I would stay long. I ended up staying 3 years.
This experience changed everything for me. Not only I met Anton who would become my partner and husband but I also changed career and discovered a passion (obsession?) for coliving and community architecture.
In 2019 Anton moved back to London which was always his home and in 2020 I followed.
We added Zuko to our little family that same year and kept working towards our shared dream: living in community, closer to nature while still being connected to the city.
**TODAY**
Fast forward through a lot of twists and turns, ups and downs, and a pandemic, in the fall of 2022 we found Selgars. And here we are.
Anton’s passion lies in facilitating meaningful and powerful transformational events and gatherings.
Mine is all about understanding the power of living together under one roof and sharing those simple moments that make life so sweet.
Selgars is a dream come true for us, a playground for our hopes, dreams, and creativity.
The ultimate dream would be to one day in the not-so-distant future, be able to convert Selgars Mill into a beautiful coliving-cohousing villages for the long term. With everyone stepping into Selgars, we believe we are 1 step closer to that dream becoming reality.
***Life at K9 strongly inspired the way we want to run the community at Selgars:**
- share responsabilities
- flat hierarchy
- co-created calendar
- Shared meals
- Playground for ideas and games
and taught us a lot:
To finish… I thought I would share my coliving lessons to take with you on your Selgars journey.
I have learned so much living with 50 others for three years. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Vulnerability creates trust
- Home is where I feel comfortable going down for breakfast in my pjs
- Food is the glue that holds us together
- Use kindness as currency
- Don’t ask what the community can do for you; ask what you can do for the community.
- Open door policy = Open heart intimacy. Don’t lock your doors; it will lock your heart
- Leave a better trace
- And my personal favorite, because it always works: in doubt, Give.
